Adama Gandema

Adama Gandema was born into a family of bronze artisans in Burkina Faso in 1978.

From the age of 6, he observes his father and grandfather at work and finds the transformation of wax into bronze magical: from modelling beeswax, molding with clay and horse dung, dewaxing, melting and casting bronze.

In the mid-90s, he gains confidence and decides his life would be dedicated to the bronze profession and sculpture in general.

In 1998, he represents the family workshop for the first time at the SIAO (Ouagadougou International Craft Fair). This exhibition is a real success for him and for his family.

Since then, exhibitions and events have followed every year, in Africa (Burkina, Senegal, Rwanda) and in Europe (France, Netherlands, Belgium).

Each of his pieces is unique as casts are broken in the process.
